the maker faire was unlike anything nick and i have ever seen. there was a fire breathing dragon, gigantic cupcakes rolling around, and tons more fun/random stuff. we didn't get a lot of time to walk around so here are some of the pics i did get. i totally recommend this event to attend next year. it's so much fun!

Photobucket
happy friday lovelies! i have been working nonstop this entire week making products for the craft show tomorrow and sunday.

nick and i are headed up to san mateo for maker faire, is anyone planning on attending? it sounds like there will be a lot of exciting things to see: there are going to be a ton of exhibits (here's a schedule!) craft demonstrations, a craft show, and a clothing exchange with stations to reconstruct clothes you swap. it'll be at the san mateo county event center, tickets are $25/day or $50 for the weekend and can be purchased at the faire. here's some faq if you're thinking about attending!

i made about 30 "i heart blog readers" mini goodie bags for anyone who stops by and mentions they're a reader of the blog :)

love these new charm buttons, they'll be available at the show along with lots of cake stands, grab bags, vintage finding packs, and lots more!

if you don't live anywhere near the bay area, CRAFT posted a list of craft shows happening this weekend that you possibly can check out. i'll be sure to post a follow up of the show next week and some of my new display items! what are your weekend plans? whatever you're doing, hope you have a fabulous weekend friends. xo.

a lovely meetup:

May 20, 2010

you all remember cathie from ampersandity - she did a guest post last week with a collection of some lovely cabinets. i mentioned that i met her a few weeks ago and so i wanted to follow up on that :) i don't even remember how i came across cathie's blog, but i was so excited when i read that she was local in orange county. i immediately emailed her to chat and we decided to do a meet up! here are some pics i snapped of the tea shop we met up at:
milkhoney
Photobucket
we met at a lovely little place in costa mesa: milk + honey, dont you just love the name? it's a charming tea shop with succulents and a really sweet outdoor patio area. we chatted about blog-ish things and Jesus and life :) she treated me to a strawberry shaved ice, she is so sweet. (and i might add, i am totally obsessed with this japanese dessert as of late, its so good! i've taken nick to have shaved ice a dozen times since) cathie blogged about it here too!
Photobucket
meeting a blog friend is so much fun, cathie and i chatted for a couple hours and i felt like we had been long time friends. i totally encourage you to do a meet up if there are local bloggers in your area :)

pretty cardigans:

cardigans
has summer weather hit you yet? it's high 70's - 80's here and it's just heating up! i'm not the biggest fan of warm weather: i'd rather be snuggled up in a cozy blanket next to the fireplace in the rain :) i love wearing sweaters and scarves all year long.. even though that might look silly next month when people will be in sun dresses and bathing suits ;) but i'll still sport a cute sweater for as long as i can before the 100's hit here.

anyway, i've been really loving pretty embellished/lace/crochet/pointelle cardigans lately so i thought i'd put together a quick collage as an outlet to my obsession with these sweaters.

1. Blooming Lattice Cardigan from anthropologie, $88
2. Linen Rosalie cardigan from banana republic, $79.50
3. H81 Floral Embroidered Cardigan from forever 21, $32.90
4. Neon cotton père cardigan from jcrew, $78
5. Knitted pointelle cardigan from topshop, $75

ps: here are some other cardigans i found while on the search: an embellished floral sweater from etsy, another lovely ruffle fabric flower sweater from etsy, and one last pretty Boucle cardigan from etsy. pretty sweaters from ae, nordstrom, and calvin klien. :)

old business cards:

30

so i stumbled across these old business cards, uploaded by ink ling on flickr. seriously, i want to go back and live in the time when they passed these out. there is a really beautiful art to them. when letterforms weren't digitized yet, there wasn't a computer to design them for you. this is the legit stuff :)
