here is where you can post any and all questions related to letterpress! there is a wonderful panel of printers who will be answering your questions received throughout the week and all the answers will be posted on friday. have fun! xo.

9 hello's:

  1. I have a little invitation company and I find lettepress really intimidating. Is there a good online resource I could use to learn the basic ins and outs of letterpress? Like, how do I save my files, what's the basic cost of letterpress, how do I approach printers who offer letterpress (when I know nothing about it!), how to choose colors, etc. I really appreciate your help!

  2. I second the eclectic life. I have in house screenprinting capabilities but when clients ask me about letterpress, I do not know who to approach when it seems like most of the letterpress people I admire already have great in-house designs and I would hate to infringe. I am in Virginia BTW if the results are more regionalized.

  3. Where's a great resource for beginners who want to start letterpressing and who want to purchase their own machinery and supplies. Any online?

  8. I am really intrigued in getting involved in letterpress. I work for a company that does letterpressing, but I'm in the retail division, and so have no contact with the actual manufacturing process. I'd love to experiment with some small work on my own, but have no idea how to start? Classes? Do inexpensive starter kits exist? Please help!

  9. I agree with Angie and learning about the process; I don't ever see myself doing this but I'm curious! I'd love to know how the digital designs get turned into plates. Do you need a 3D printer - are there companies that will turn your design into a plate?
