I am so excited to have the lovely Nole from Oh So Beautiful Paper here with us today! I got to meet Nole at Alt Summit back in July and I had been such a big fan of her blog, it was amazing to meet her! You also have to check out her wedding photos - they are gorgeous! Hello there lovely readers! Nole from Oh So Beautiful Paper here, and I'm thrilled to be helping out while Danni is off getting married (Congratulations Danni + Nick!!). When Danni first asked me to guest post, I started to think of all the different wedding-related topics I could talk about, but I kept coming back to the same idea over and over – calligraphy! These days, calligraphy comes in all sorts of styles and shapes – from traditional and elegant to modern and romantic to quirky hand lettering styles. Here are a few of my favorites!

White calligraphy on black envelopes is a fabulous modern and bold take on traditional calligraphy, and looks incredibly romantic when paired with vintage stamps. Calligraphy by Neither Snow.

If black envelopes aren't your thing, try a bold color like green or yellow, or even pink for a softer and more vintage-inspired look. Calligraphy by Grace Edmands for Sarah Parrott.

Calligraphy is absolutely gorgeous when letterpress printed on a wedding invitation. Use calligraphy as the sole design element for your wedding invitations – like the Primele design for Bella Figura – or pair calligraphy with a blind impression pattern for a more modern look, like Kristina and Brock's wedding invitations with calligraphy by Jenna Hein.

I featured this beautiful New Orleans wedding invitation earlier this year – Betsy Dunlap created the stunning calligraphy text, which was then letterpress printed by Blackbird Letterpress. The final wedding invitation is truly a work of art.

I have such a soft spot for hand lettering! If you know someone with unique or interesting handwriting, ask them to help you address your wedding invitations! Hand lettering can be wonderful for a more informal or whimsical wedding – imagine a brunch wedding or outdoor picnic reception, but the possibilities are really endless. Hand lettering by Randi Brookman Harris via Martha Stewart Weddings.

Isn't calligraphy so pretty? If you're looking for more calligraphy ideas or wedding invitation inspiration, I hope you'll come visit me over at Oh So Beautiful Paper!
