Grey Label:

February 10, 2011

So I'm a little behind on the game but did you hear the announcement last month about the new line of products by Lady Gaga & Polaroid? (You can watch the video here )

Just wondering what you thought about it. I like the name, Grey Label. So basically the line consists of an Instant Mobile Printer (GL10), the Instant Digital Camera (GL30), and Camera Glasses (GL20) At first I thought camera glasses are so random and so lady gaga, but they are kind of growing on me just because there's nothing out there like them. What do you think? As far as pricing, the GL10 Printer will be available in May 2011 and cost $149.99 and the prices for the Instant Digital Camera & Glasses are not announced yet.

I couldn't find any images of the prints you get from the instant digital camera but apparently you can choose your own frame so you could get the classic polaroid frame. The paper technology being used is ZINK (Zero Ink Technology) -- I have a pogo printer that my mom got me for Christmas a couple years ago: it's pretty cool but it's just like a print from costco or something, just smaller.

I guess for me, as cool as this new technology is - it just won't ever be the same as a good old fashion polaroid print.

15 hello's:

  2. I like the ideas but I'm not sure if I will get any of the new stuff. I have the Fuji Instax and it suites me just fine.

  10. I wouldn't expect anything less from Gaga, polaroid glasses? Kind of amazing. Although the whole reason I love polaroids are for their vintage and old school feel and look. I don't know how I feel about these new high techy ones... a new era is dawning!

I understand Polaroid is trying to be up to date, but I don't know if they realize people don't want gadgets- we want film.
