diy with Brittni:

April 8, 2011

Hello, hello. Brittni here from papernstitch. And am I so excited to be here today! It feels like forever since my last post, so I am thrilled to be back for another round of diy. This week I am sharing a handful of party projects that will have you breaking out the balloons (literally). Let's get to it...

Create these easy paper party poppers with sweet treats inside for your guests to leave with as they head out the door. Or use them as escort cards for a casual dinner party with the girls.

Then, break out the glitter and glam up those boring odds and ends that you have lying around. Use this clothespin diy for inspiration, and you're well on your way to adding a little sparkle to your evening. Your guest will love this unexpected detail.

And speaking of details, primp your packages with these watercolor flower bows that may double as favors, corsages, and party decor.

Add some fun and bring in some playful cheer with this balloon escort card favor idea from Frolic. They're weighted down with candy for extra awesome-ness.

And finally, what party would be complete without a party hat? Learn how to make your own right here.

What are your favorite party projects?

Share them in the comments below.

  2. Gorgeous ideas! You see those party poppers? Here in England, they're Christmas crackers. For primary school craft fairs, you make them with loo roll, wrapping paper and lots of ribbon, plus sweets or little toys to go inside. Mainly you get shop-bought ones and they have a piece of card inside that releases a loud-ish 'bang' when the cracker is pulled. Like a wishbone, one person gets the short end and the other gets the long end with the prize, and often a joke and a paper crown.
