It seems to be a rising trend now for people to build everything inside their homes. I am starting to realize that just about everything can be saved and re-used into something else. Pretty soon, we are all going to start constructing our own houses of straw, sticks and bricks!

I am loving this creative movement and I hope that it is here to stay. It brings a much more sentimental quality to people's homes and also, perfect ice breakers if you're an awkward guest :) Here are some of my favorite DIY items of the week.

1. DIY Lightbulb Vases
I saw these a couple of months back and am still gaping at them despite having looked at them a million times consecutively. Where do I even start? Oh, the simplicity, the creativity, the brilliance!

One of my favourite DIY projects of all time. I dare say the replica is even better (to me) than the original!!! I love how there's a fun mixture of colours and patterns, making it stand out even more.

3. Of The Meadow Yard Stakes Vase
Not exactly a DIY project since these are selling for $68 at BEHLDN, but I think it's simple enough to replicate. It can really bring a rustic, back-to-nature quality to the home if done well.

4. DIY: Mini Doily-print Bowl
The beauty of this project is in its absolute simplicity. I know, I know, I already said that about the others, but this one just takes the cake. Inexpensive, beyond easy and looks a million bucks.

5. Hammered Spoon Place Card
Your guests are going to remember you for life for this. At least I would. Beautiful and intricate, this is the most creative place card I have seen thus far. The leaf ribbon on it is just the perfect finishing touch to a fancy, sentimental get-together.

  9. These are great projects! I like the use of lightbulbs to hold flowers or plants and in fact, anything in similar form can be used like coffee cans, mason jars, glass coke bottles and much more.
