Ever since I was in college, I've always kept some sort of notebook with me to write down "to do" things from day to day. So for the latest notebook, I purchased one of these simple Mead notebooks and got some new Lotta Jansdotter washi tape (don't you just love the yellow one?) and decorated a new notebook for myself!
On the inside, I always try to make a calendar for the upcoming months.. Someone saw this one time and said I was ocd! But I just try to be organized!
I used some of the decals I designed (that I had at the craft show) and put one on the front and one on the inside. I am really loving these decals :)
That's it! A very simple + quick afternoon project. If you're overwhelmed or just need to get a little more organized, I totally recommend keeping a notebook with you. I know there are lots of organization/productivity apps on smart phones now and days but there is something awesome about writing things down the good old fashion way ;)
I am also a notebook keeper, I have never got on board with technology for my lists and calendars.i love this notebook with this gorgeous tape. I may have to try it.
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeletewhat a coincidence, I'm just looking for erasable calender to hang in my office wall. That's a bigger version of your notebook!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous. I need a planner of some sort for the new school year, but all the affordable ones are ugly, all the pretty ones are expensive. I'd love to try this out.
ReplyDeletehow fun is that?! i love the detail. xoxo jillian:: don't miss my fishs eddy dish giveaway!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteI have way too many notebooks/diarys. Now I want a new one that looks just like yours.
What a gorgeous notebook!! You make everything so pretty, Danni! Happy Tuesday :)
ReplyDeleteI love that! It's a good use of washi tape--which I have waaay too much of and have been hoarding for too long! (I have that Lotta Jansdotter one, too--love!) Sooo...are the decals going to be sold anytime soon (for those of us who live too far away to pop in a craft show ;) ??? :)
ReplyDeletesuch a simple idea but looks so cute! i love that you decorated the inside too x
ReplyDeleteps having a mini calendar is no-way ocd! or maybe just organisation freaks like us think that...x
I LOVE this notebook! especially the calendar in the front, definitely not OCD. I'll have to add that to my next one :)
ReplyDeletelove this idea! so sweet :) i'm forever filling notebooks and making to-do lists filled with plans (favorite activity of the day sometimes) i'm hoping you offer those decals online in the future, they're really sweet.
ReplyDeletehow does everyone have so much washi tape and i have none!? i gotta get some!
ReplyDeleteI always have a notebook w/ me too bc paper is always better. Very cute notebook & yes that yellow Walsh tape is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, Danni! I used to obsess over cute notebooks, but strangely I found that I write best in simple black moleskins. Something about those just works for me. The washi tape however...well, I can never have too much of that.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea! I was looking for a journal yesterday but I couldn't find one that was as cute as this! I can't wait for my washi tape collection to grow was big as yours, it makes everything look so pretty!
ReplyDeleteP.s. I love love your decals, I purchased 2 of them and put them on the back of my phone.
Need this! I cannot stand electronic calendars. So chic!
ReplyDeleteoh such a gorgeous DIY! i have a weakness for notebooks - love this.
ReplyDeletewhat a great notebook! I also have one for to do things...
ReplyDeletebut I especially loved the washi tape cover!
amazingly beautiful.. wow.. must find that tape. xo hugs thks for sharing with us!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally making one of these to throw in my purse this afternoon. So cute!
ReplyDeleteHow may someone who was unable to attend the craft show purchase some of your fabulous decals? Thank you so much for making each day a little brighter with your fun ideas. <3 Liz
ReplyDeleteThis is the cutest idea EVER. I just ordered some Washi tape just so I can make it.
ReplyDelete@kimberly & @beautyinsimplicity -- I promise I'll be putting the decals online very soon!
ReplyDeleteThis notebook is too cute! My notebook is almost finished and after reading your post I'm thinking maybe I'll decorate a new one for myself too!
ReplyDeleteI like this idea! The elephant paperclip is soooo cute! Where did you get it from??
ReplyDeleteUm, this is amazing! I'm loving it. My problem with notebooks is that I leave them at the page I'm jotting, so the cover is never to be seen again. If I did this, I'd learn to close the notebook. :)
ReplyDeleteLove love love. Notebooks like this make me happy to stay organized. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness this is the cutest thing ever. My washi tape addiction started when I first bought some from you at Patchwork a couple of years ago and this helps keep it going strong! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was great to see you on Saturday. Mac was so excited about his camera and especially the mustache magnet...thanks again.
great idea! Love this notebook!
ReplyDeletethis is so cute! i love all the colors layered together...what a fun project! xo, katie

I totally agree about the beauty of writing things down the old fashioned way. I have tried countless times to use an app on my phone but I always go right back to my little planner notebook! lol
ReplyDeleteso much love! did you make the calendar yourself, or is there someplace i can grab it or a similar, customizable one? i love it so much and want it, ah! <3 thanks for always being so inspiring. :)

I can never get used to using apps on my phone to keep me organized - I always download them and never use them :D A notebook is the only thing that works for me :)
ReplyDeleteOh, and "Sometimes if something isn't written down that I get done, I'll add it just so I can cross it off ;) (tell me there is someone else out there who does this too!) " - Yeah - me!! :D
Wow! This is an awesome journal!! I have waaay to many journals, but no one can ever have too many journals.....especially if they look like this :o) Thanks for all the inspiration and all the wonderful project ideas you post. You R the BEST!
