Guess who I got to meet a few weeks ago at CCE? Brittni from papernstitch! Brittni has been posting a diy column here at the blog and it was so wonderful to finally meet her in person. and what a small world - after the conference, we were both headed to Stockton to visit our parents! How random is that? This world really is small indeed. Anyway, I'm really excited to have her and her husband featured at the handsome today.

Please tell us a little about you and what you do: I design software at a startup here in Jacksonville, FL. I am also Brittni's tech guy. I kind of wish I would've been a soccer player, jazz drummer, or hunky carpenter on TLC's smash-hit "Trading Spaces", but I guess that wasn't in the cards. Ha.

What are your thoughts about blogs + blogging? Blogging is great. The internet is obviously an awesome platform for those who can churn out great content. Readers and content consumers, like myself, will honor and support a great blog as long as there is a little entertainment value.

How did you & your wife meet? We met at college in a summer figure drawing class. We were both in relationships at the time, but sort of "knew" before ever talking to each other that there was something there. I guess we had exchanged some glances and a smile or two. So again, without saying a word to one another, we each broke up with our significant others. Just like that. At our next class we started talking and the rest is history.

How many hours a day does your wife spend blogging? It's hard to say. The blog and papernstitch.com are her most coveted creations, but her time is split between the two. So, it's not very cut and dry. She loves promoting her exhibitors, and writing about things she experiences while running her own business. But she also does a wonderful job making her self available to her exhibitors at all times, so fielding questions and answering emails can be a huge part of her day at times too. That said, she works anywhere from 8-12 hours a day Monday-Friday and maybe 2-4 hours on the weekends. Of that time, I'd say about half of it is actually writing, blogging, and social media related.

What do you do during this time? Working. Creating something. Breaking something.... I am on the computer all the time too, even when I am at home. So, it works out well. Even though we are both kind of workaholics, we still manage to spend more time together than most. I think.

Is there any one thing that annoys you most about having a blogger wife? Well, her work day never really ends. At night for example, we have a few favorite TV shows that we "watch" together. Normally there is not a whole lot of watching going on though - just sort of half-listening because usually Brittni is on her laptop. We're always having to rewind the TV so she can catch up and really pay attention. I'm used to it, and I do the same thing, but that doesn't mean it's not annoying. :)

  2. Cute cute cute! I love that they are both glued to their computers. My husband and I always watch our shows together but I'm the one with my laptop and blogging. It's our nightly ritual.
