collections / houses and nooks:

February 4, 2010

little tiny houses. tree house getaways.
sleeping nooks. and tee-pee tents.

for some reason in my head these all relate
but i don't know what to call it all ;)

so here is everything i gathered:

then i stumbled upon these tiny texas houses from handmade charlotte. they're so cute and quaint. i'd love to just live in a city of tiny houses.

then it got me to thinking about tumble weed houses which i've blogged about before: how fun would it be to have a tiny little getaway house like this!

i then came across this treehouse post from a cup of jo and thought about how lovely it would be to stay in a tree house.

this isn't really a tree house but it's an entire house made out of a tree and very cool i thought. via inhabitat.com

  15. This post reminds me of the "forts" I used to make with my sister when we were younger. I wish I could devote a day to making a fort and sitting, reading or even doing homework in it.
In fact, I am pitching the idea to my roommates.
I feel like I need something like that to brighten my next couple of weeks.

    Lovely photos!
    Inspiring, as always.

  17. We had friends who stayed at Treehouses up north...the say it was the best trip ever!

I also immediately thought of interior designer Jeanne Bayol. She designs gypsy caravans that are to.die.for. Makes me want to be a soujourner!

Check out some of her work on this flickr set: http://www.flickr.com/photos/gipsybazar/sets/72157594304254712/

    Magical!

  24. Wow! This is right up my alley. We are currently obsessing over tree houses and play houses around these parts. My 5 year old boy has drawn up many plans and I have scanned the web compiling the perfect design to present to my husband, the builder in the family.
I have also been thinking about making my 3 little people a tent or a teepee. Now I have more inspiration.
This is my first time visiting your blog and I really love it. You have an eye!
    I'll be back,
    Greta
