2010 oscar favs:

March 8, 2010

posting a little late but nick and i just got back from vegas! we had our engagement shoot yesterday in the desert and despite the rain and the cold, we had a lot of fun. we were so so so tired when we got back, we just relaxed and watched the oscars.. what did you think friends?

fashion is so subjective, i heard so many commentaries and saw so many best/worst dressed lists, some worst dressed made it on some other best dressed lists and vice versa. i suppose not everyone will ever agree on the same thing. but these were my personal favorite four dresses of the evening. anyone agree? disagree? ;)

Sandra Bullock in Marchesa, Demi Moore in Versace,
Anna Kendrick in Elie Saab, Elizabeth Banks in Versace

About the dresses, i have to be honest, i am not an evening gown girl at all, haha!

  7. I completely agree with your 4 top picks. I wasn't so fond of a lot of others....but these ones are great....esp Demi Moores. And funnily enough I thought Guliana Rancic from E! had one of the best dresses on the lead up the red carpet - gorgeous one-shoulder gold number! Just saying!

  8. Oh your engagement shoot in the desert?!! You must post some photos!!
I didn't see the Oscars, as Israel is opposite time-wise, and it all happened in the middle of the night... I like the Demi Moore dress and Elizabeth Banks. The other two are OK but I'm not crazy about them :)

  21. All of these women look fantastic but rather like feather dusters (except for Sandra Bullock, who so deserved her Oscar). I may be the only one, but I looooved Kate Winslet's silvery corset-like top and creamy silky skirt. And she looked drop-dead gorgeous in it.

  22. I watch the Oscars almost exclusively for the fashion (does that make me a bad person?)...I really loved Rachel McAdams watercolor inspired gown. Stunning!

  23. I thought Sandra Bullock looked amazing from head to toe, but I loved Maggie Gyllenhaal's dress best. Glad to hear you had fun in Vegas... can't wait to see your e-pics!!

  24. I love all the dresses except for Sandra Bullocks. I'm not sure why, I just wasn't as excited about the cut I guess. I like the flowy bottom dresses best.
glad you had a great trip!

  29. i couldn't agree with you more. I've read numerous articles with people saying how ugly Anna Kendrick's dress was... WHAT? I thought she looked stunning and would LOVE to have that dress. Sandy B is gorgeous, and I was very impressed with Elizabeth Banks too..

Oh and I want to look as awesome as Demi when I'm that age... AMAZING.

Guess we're on the same fashion page!

  30. Great picks but Vera was best dressed to me, too! I know her huge ruffle, fuschia dress was over the top ... but she pulled it off. I was instantly drawn to her. And jealous that I can't wear a huge dress like that!

  31. i love your oscar pics; i agree with all of them except I though Demi's dress washed her out a bit.
I thought Sandra Bullock was especially befitting best actress.. she looked so classy and gorgeous!

  42. Sandra, Anna, and Demi's (yes, we're on first-name basis) were my faves of the night, but of those, I liked Anna's the best. I wouldn't say I'm a girly pink girl, but I love the soft look of Anna's dress - and it's something I'd wear.
