Not sure if you remember these 2 features but I thought they were really great columns, then I pretty much just stopped posting them! Did you like these columns? I'd love to bring the handsome & blog discussion back but I really need your feedback & help!

Can you let me know what sort of blog discussions you'd like to see discussed.. Or what guys/husbands/fiances/boyfriends you'd want to see interviewed for the handsome? :) All and any suggestions welcome, and if I use yours I'll definitely credit you. I would love to hear your thoughts & feedback and get some steam to start up these columns again. Thank you dear friends!

32 hello's:

  1. I think it would be great to bring both back! It's always need to see the men that stand beside great bloggers, and your discussions posts are very thought provoking.

  4. I loved "the handsome" What about Jordan's husband from "oh happy day" or Melissa's husband from "ISLY"

  5. I liked those columns. I was hoping blog discussions would continue and that the issue of maintaining interest in a blog (not just the readers' but writer's as well) would be discussed (and if tips were given, even better!). This coming from someone who really enjoys reading blogs and writing mine when I do.

  6. I would love to see a discusion about what you should do with your blog as a beginer, how to increase traffic and things like that.

  7. I loved the handsome ones. Such a great feature! I, of course, would love to see my husband featured but I'm not a prolific enough blogger to do so.
I do love the discussions but I know they can be very time consuming.

  8. I loved The Handsome. It was so fun and interesting. I wasn't much fond of the blog discussion though.

  11. I like the idea behind "the handsome" - the notion that there is always someone supporting a blogger, which helps her to thrive and succeed. However, since the beginning of "the handsome," I was really bothered by the title, which I think presents a narrow scope of focus. I would love to see the concept open up a bit more to include the LGBT community. If I was a successful lesbian blogger, I would never feel that I could include my partner in something named "the handsome," which is clearly for the traditional heterosexual relationship only. And there are also some great male bloggers as well that have supportive partners/wives/etc. So, with a little revision, I think that feature could be great!

And I really, really like "blog discussion." Keep up the good work!

  12. I like the idea of seeing a significant other who supports the blogger in what they do, but is a completely different sort of person. They don't like antiques, or they're not a crafter or graphic designer. Maybe they're a research scientist.

I like the idea of couples who get along together but are oppposites.

  13. I also completely agree with Katie's ideas about LGBT, and men who are supported by their women or partners.

  14. awww i loved the Handsome posts. Please bring them back. I would also love to eventually nominate my bf for them soon

  15. I love everything you post - so keep doing what you think is best, and your readers will follow! :)

  16. yes yes yes... bring them back!! I love interacting in discussions... and it is always helpful to see the men behind great women!

  17. i share the concern that LGBT partners might not feel comfortable or included with the title/series "the handsome"...i would love to see the focus on the kick ass bloggers themselves, not just the men in their lives.

  18. I have no suggestions - sorry (!) - but I do love these features!

  19. I loved The Handsome feature. I think readers forget when reading blogs, it's really all about building relationships. I'm curious to know if the blogger nurtures their relationships with their readers so much, how their other relationships are valued. I personally loved it and think it's a great feature.

  20. I loved "The Handsome" feature. I liked hearing about blog life from the husband's perspective. A very creative idea and I don't think it should be changed at all.

  21. i absolutely adored "the handsome"! would love to see rubyellen's hubs on there (he seems to be quite the funny man) and dear lizzy's hubs collin.. he is quite a riot!

  22. I just wondered what happened to the Handsome the other day!

  24. hi danni, i just came back from california and oh it was awesome!:D i love the handsome one, totally amazing to hear the guys version of that all! :D

  25. i'd love to hear your thoughts on blog conferences. why they're important, why one should go, etc. i know you're a speaker at ALT and i was thinking about going this year. would love to hear your perspective (and i hope you keep up the handsome too!)

  26. I loved the handsome! You should interview Bobby from Thefoxisblack.com & Daniel from manhattan-nest.com. They both have really rad blogs.

ALSO, could you please continue the blog discussion column? I've been thinking a LOT about how much I want to write about proper attribution. You should do that. Heck, I'd totally guest post for you!

  27. I loved the blog discussion a lot, so I'd love to see that come back. I agree with some of the other commenters that it would be nice to see some alternative choices with The Handsome--partners who are more "opposite" of the blogger in the sense that they don't have the exact same interests, etc. I felt like it kind of wore out its course because all of the guys said many of the same ol' supportive things about their blogging partners (they were great--just something different would be nice, too).

  28. Personally, The Handsome was never really that interesting to me. It was a cute idea, but it all kind of sounded the same to me.

The blog discussion however, I would love to see come back. I sent you an email a LONG time ago with a suggestion for a topic about guest posting. Actually, incredibly ironically my email was prompted by a request I received from Desginshuffle.com to guest post on my blog. I ended up turning them down for complicated reasons, but I see you featured them recently. You probably lost that email, but I had a lot of questions. If you find it I'd love to have a discussion!

  29. I actually really loved The Handsome feature!! The blog discussion was great too but there were just so many discussions in the comments that it felt more overwhelming and time consuming than was worth it for me to read through. Maybe if you did the discussion and we post reponses in comments as normal but then you have some sort of a nice discussion wrap-up to bundle all of the main discussion ideas into sections/summary paragraphs?

  30. I would love to see those come back! For blog discussion, I'd love to hear your thoughts on content and originality among blogs and in the cyberworld in general. I've been seeing a lot of foul play in this area, whether it be listing "pinterest" as a source or going so far as to steal photos and content from others to create fake blog/social media accounts. I guess it's not the most positive topic, but relevant for sure! :) Xo, Katie

  31. Love both columns with all my heart!
The Handsome suggestions (I'll name the blogger but you know I'm talking about contacting their spouse/bf) : Bri Emery, Emily Henderson, Simplesong, Design Mom, everyone at Kinfolk, anyone from Rue, Lonny or Dwell, Margaux Wanger, Ashley Meaders, Rifle Paper Co, Joy Thigpen, Little Green Notebook, and possibly featuring smaller blogs that are still up and coming like Lillian, Janie etc. I think the idea of featuring smaller bloggers goes hand and hand with your encouragement of smaller handmade shops.
Blog Discussions: 1) What are do most bloggers commonly love/What characterizes the taste of a design blogger (bunting, vintage, DSLRs, parties, oversized balloons, Rifle Paper Co, etc). 2) What are your biggest struggles with blogging? How do you balance your priorities without becoming too overwhelmed? 3) Why do you blog? What is your main purpose/objecting in blogging? 4)What encourages or discourages you most about blogging?

  32. I loved both series...For The Handsome: What about Elsie's new husband from A Beautiful Mess

and, any and everything about blogs are helpful for me! I love reading what an established blogger has to say about the industry!
