Wow, it's been a crazy week! Last week we posted our wedding photos and I just wanted to thank you for all your sweet comments. It was exciting as our photos were featured on Design*Sponge. Thanks also to friends who mentioned or blogged our wedding: forget me knot weddings, 100 layer cake, the ardent sparrow, & you are my fave.

On Saturday we headed up north for my friend's wedding. That's where the photos above are from. Nick and I visited a cute cute store called Saffron & Genevieve, she had the best store displays and decor.

Photobucket
on Tuesday, we headed home and I kept getting lots of traffic but I had no idea where it was from. Thanks to a tweet mention, I realized oh, hello friend was named on blogger's BLOGS OF NOTE! I am so totally in awe, thank you blogger! and welcome to new friends & readers.

Lastly, thanks to Ana from In Honor of Design for featuring my brand as an example for successful branding. So honored!

Did you see Ruby's announcement video she posted last week at her blog? so cute! and have you ever had a friend who you've been telling to start a blog? Our friend Linda finally started a blog! You may remember Linda: we made her wedding invites with japanese tape & a sewing machine. Then we blogged about her bridal shower, and finally her wedding. Yea, she's been around she just didn't have a blog at the time. and now she does!

This week has been amazing and I feel so grateful and overwhelmed by your support. Thanks to everyone who takes time to leave a comment here, or just stopping by and reading my blog. I think it's time for a reader appreciation week so stay tuned for more details! (it's been over a year since I had a customer appreciation week)

diy with Brittni:

16

Good morning. Brittni here from papernstitch with this week's diy roundup. And today I am obsessed with the little things; those tiny diy's that will make a big impact on you and in your home. So, let's jump right in with the first tutorial...

If you're a camera nut, you probably know about Photojojo, a site for the camera fiend with photo-related diy projects, the coolest camera gear, and more. I stop by the site pretty frequently to check in on new diy's, and this recent project for a photorealistic gadget pouch (image above) is pure genius. You can actually make a pouch out of one of your old (or new) photographs. Awesome. And the best part? You don't need a sewing machine, which is music to my non-sewing ears.

Break out the nuts and bolts. Well, just the hex nuts really. This braided hex nut bracelet from Honestly...WTF is surprisingly glamorous considering the materials. The projects that Erica and Lauren come up with for their blog are insane! Such a great resource for fashion and diy's.

Then, get some woodland inspiration with this clever log display jar created by Kate Pruitt (found on Design Sponge). In about two hours in time and a few dollars in supplies, you'll be displaying your newest treasures in the coolest curiosity cabinets ever.

And if you're feeling unclean after the woodland project, check out this fun felt soap diy from Wit and Whistle. It's a great gift idea for a friend's upcoming birthday, or even something like a party favor. *This is probably the easiest project in today's roundup. So, be sure to try it.

And lastly, if you're struggling to stay organized so far this year, head back to the woods for this rustic wood alphabet magnets tutorial from none other than Aesthetic Outburst. Such a great idea. Perfect for the fridge or any other magnetic surface. Hang family photos, your niece's latest art project, or your to-do's list.

What tiny projects will you be working on this weekend?

For today's feature, we have my sweet husband, Nicholas! I got to marry this awesome guy in September of 2010 and I have been loving every day of it. I've been meaning to have Nick guest post over the past few months but we never got around to it, so I'm excited to have him featured here today. Last week's interview with Ryan was a success, thanks for all your great comments showing Ryan some love. Hope you enjoy this week's interview for the handsome, friends! ... and thanks again to Melanie for coming up with the name for this feature!

What are your thoughts about blogs + blogging? Blogging is awesome, it brings people together who share the same interests from around the world. The blogging community is very encouraging and uplifting, I see how close everyone is and how they support a each other, it truly does reminds me of a family.

How many hours a day does your wife spend blogging? I would say anywhere between 2-10 hours a day. The blog is a huge part of Mrs Keith's life and every day she is looking for ways to make it better for her readers.

What do you do during this time? Mrs Keith is really good about getting her blogging done when I'm at work, so when I get home we can spend time together. However even if I do find myself at home while she's blogging, that's ok. You see a man needs his own time as well to, well, play video games. I call it Game Time. While Mrs. Keith blogs its a perfect time to get my Game on.

Any silly/crazy/funny stories or experiences related to blogging you'd like to share with the readers: Well when ever Mrs Keith and I go out, we always try to remember to bring a camera just in case there is something blog worthy we come across, and when we take pictures, we sometimes might have to retake them to get the "perfect shot" for the blog. One one of my favorite experiences is when a friend of mine from high school contacted me recently on FB saying that she had been reading Mrs Keith's blog for a while and had just made the connection that she was my wife. Crazy small world!

How do you feel being blogged about? I like when Mrs. Keith includes me in a post. She always finds away to paint me in the best light for which i am very thankful. I do find it quite funny when a stranger comes up to Mrs. Keith and I and knows all about our engagement and our wedding and our little adventures that we go on. I am just glad Mrs. Keith doesn't blog about my not so flattering features, thanks babe! :)

What is one thing that annoys you most about having a blogger wife? I'd say really the only issue i have about Mrs. Keith blogging is that sometimes Mrs. Keith really gets focused when she blogs, so much to the point that it can be hard to get her full attention. But I can relate to this since I get the same way when playing games, I turn into zombie Nick, no bueno.

Thanks for your interview Nicholas! PS: If you have a request or there's someone you'd love to see up here on the handsome, leave a comment and let me know! Also, if you think there's a question we should add to the interview, leave your thoughts here too!

Isn't my husband cute? I mean, seriously smokin' handsome!

September 25th, 2010 was our day. It started off at my mom's house, where we both got ready. It happened to be one of the hottest days of the year or something, it was crazy hot but I don't think I could tell because, well, I was getting married ;)

Photobucket
Photobucket
I love these 2 perspectives of Nick & I.

Photobucket

We then headed off to the park. We chose the park because it was the place we went on our first date. Oh, and September 25th was our 5th year anniversary of dating.

Photobucket
This was the welcome table. We had fans, buttons, & programs to give away. We also had a polaroid guest book. I'm super bummed, no one got a picture of it but it was cool. I'll share it with you another time.

Photobucket

We decided to do a picnic basket lunch, we had to get a ton of picnic baskets together! It was fun to go on the 'hunt' for them and exciting when we'd find one at a thrift store or at the flea market.
Photobucket
PhotobucketPhotobucket
Photobucket
Since we had the wedding at a park, there was no seating or lighting when it got dark. We wanted to get married at sunset though. So we decided we'd switch around the schedule and have the reception first, then have the ceremony. We really liked the idea. It ended up flowing pretty well. Guests arrived and shared a picnic basket lunch. Having the schedule in reverse really seemed like it built up the anticipation of the ceremony too.

Photobucket
My favorite part in planning was getting to pick all the decorations for the wedding. I went to antique markets for months and it was a blast being able to buy awesome things for the wedding. We also rented vintage furniture from Jeni at Found! She has such a wonderful collection of vintage pieces. She's amazing to work with and so sweet, I totally recommend her if you have an event.
Photobucket
Photobucket
My favorite decor pieces were probably these brass frame stands
and telescope magnifying glass stands.
Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket
You may remember the engagement ring that nick made me.
We put it out on display, along with the wood block he started with.
Photobucket
Photobucket
I love this little lounge area they set up.
We also had a little photo wall that my dad built for us which fit perfectly.

Photobucket
We went with simple silver wedding bands from etsy.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Ruby arranged all the flowers and made all the lace decorations.
She's oh-so-talented and I was blessed to have her around that day.

Photobucket
Nick & I lounging before the ceremony.

Photobucket
Photobucket
(just got this photo today, photo by our videographer: chaz curry)

Photobucket
So I had to change before the ceremony - Linda & Ruby
built me a lovely fabric tent to change in. They're the best!
Oh, and the dress is vintage and borrowed from Ruby.
What can I say, she was my wedding-godmother!

Photobucket
(photo above by chaz curry)

Photobucket
So then we started the ceremony at sunset, just like we wanted. It was perfect. I was able to just take a deep breath, look around the amazing view, take it all in, and thank Jesus.

Did I mention we had my older brother marry us? It was so special. I really admire my older brother. (He's 11 years older than me) He always encouraged me when I was growing up and I couldn't imagine having anyone else marrying us. (He is single by the way if you have someone you know, we could play cupid) Anyway, he did a great job. He cried too which was funny + sweet.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket
It was so emotional for us. A good emotional of course.

Photobucket
Then after the ceremony we just had a quick dessert reception
with cinnamon rolls, brownies, cookies, & mini doughnuts.

Photobucket
Photobucket
We gave mini bundt cakes for our favors. Found the perfect size box for them, designed the tags and tied it with fabric with a wood fork attached.
