Happy Friday:

January 13, 2012

Can you guess who this yummy treat is from? My little brother's girlfriend: Samantha! You may remember she got us some cupcakes and doughnuts before. She is the best, and is always thinking of others when she buys delicious treats. Not only are they yummy but they're fun to take pictures of too.
These are from a bakery in Tustin called Cream Pan. You locals may have been here. These are the strawberry croissants. So good.

and in about 5 seconds, demolished. :)

So what are you up to this weekend? Nick has been working late all week (he got home around 1am the past 3 days!) so I am just looking forward to spending time with him this weekend. He is taking me on a little date on Sunday, I super excited! I've been keeping myself busy with getting ready for alt next week and a wholesale show after that..

Just a thought for the weekend - we got news this week that a friend was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. It's also in his spine and hip. He's only 30, so young. and he just got married a year ago. I've been processing it this week. It's a little weird that their lives are changed in a second and I go on blogging about what I'm wearing or some pretty food, you know? I don't know. I guess what I took from it was that life is short. Nick and I argue sometimes and get into really petty fights. You know how when you just get really in your head and so angry you can't let it go? I don't know, maybe it's just me. But all that to say, it's just not worth it. Spend some time with someone you love. Be sure to tell someone you love them. One day it can be all fine and the next, changed forever.

Have a great weekend friends. See you on Monday.

  7. I am again so sorry to hear about your friend. Life is short. As I have gotten older I have lost friends and family to cancer and each loss is another reminder of how short our time can be.

If blogging about what you are wearing or about something beautiful makes you happy - then it is no less important than anything else.

Happiness in the short time we have is the greatest blessing we can get.

    Have a wonderful weekend,
    Brandi

  12. Hi Danni,
It's @mamaliz1013...aka Liz formerly from enchanted honey bee.... Again I am still thinking about you and your friends...Cancer is such a hard battle to fight, and we will keep him, his family and you in our prayers. We've unfortunately have had to say goodbye to many people on our lives because of cancer and it never seems justified. Makes you feel so little in this world huh? *hugs* to you.
p.s the Strawberry croissant is cream pan's finest!! hope to catch up with you soon! God bless dear.

  13. So sorry to hear about your friend. A friend of ours was recently diagnosed with cancer too and she's just finished her first round of chemo. We'll be visiting her for the first time since the news tomorrow and it has made me think a lot about all the petty things we do that just ends up wasting time we could have spent with loved ones. Sending prayers and thoughts your way!

  14. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. Sometimes, reminders to cherish what we have can be sweet. That just sucks. Please know that I've said a prayer for them.

  15. I am sorry to hear about your friend but in my lifetime I encounter alot of these situations. You may see it in the news. Doesn't matter if the person is old or young, someone you know or don't know. One moment they are happy and healthy and the next you may see them they may get sick or get kill. It is important to know what you really want in life. No one can get it for you except yourself. Do you want stuff to show off or do you want to spent your time with your love ones (family, relatives, children...etc) and make memories instead of accumulating stuffs. Lots of stuff can lead you to busy life and when one is busy one do not have time with love ones. Its okay to talk about food & family & crafts because it is an outlet. But to spent all your time with things and not people is quite scary but if that's what you want than don't regret it or feel sad. Either people or things...define what makes you happy. My mother-in-law have cancer and battling it for few years. We visit her, have dinner and enjoy each other company. We don't talk about who has what (stuffs or clothings). We talk about other things and enjoy that moment. Also all relationship have arguments. That's how you learn. Are you willing to adapt or be stubborn & assume you or he is always right? Nothing wrong with defeat once in awhile.

Take it easy and try to find out what is really important for you.

  19. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Please let him know that he can beat this. I was diagnosed with cancer when I was 30, and I went through chemo, surgery, and radiation. A benefit to being young and having cancer is that your body can tolerate the treatment much better than if you're older. I hope he has a good team of doctors (oncologist, radiologist, surgeon) and looks into homeopathy (alternative medicine). Both of which are extremely important to fighting cancer. Last note, I have met people in cancer support groups who were stage IV and have lived to tell their story.
