happy easter!

happy easter!

happy easter dear friends!

hope you have a lovely day with your families full of quality time: hunting for eggs, and eating candy, or whatever your tradition may be. nick and i are exchanging some easter baskets, i got him some yummy see's chocolate eggs with a white chocolate bunny inside. i have such fond memories of a chocolate bunny that my grandma gave me when i was younger, with another chocolate inside, so i was so delighted to find these. we're taking my grandpa to church and then having lunch, i've mentioned he's 83 so i'm excited to be able to go to Easter service with him.

the picture comes from some pretty floral pieces i recently ordered in such pretty colors: mint, ivory, and pink and they really reminded me of easter when i received them the other day, so appropriate.

see you tomorrow!

lovely books: game books!

lovely books: game books!

i was sent some of the most lovely pocket game books the other day and they are simply fabulous! published by Andrews McNeel publishing, the designs on these little pocket posh books are so fun and they come in all kinds of puzzles like sudoku (my favorite!), crossword, logic, and lots more! they are lovely to take on a trip. pick up a couple today! they'd make a great gift and are perfect for your travels! i especially love some of these covers here:

thrift finds: lovely plates.

thrift finds: plates.

thrift finds: plates.

hello friends! well, i thought i would post some pictures of some lovely plates i found while thrift shopping in missouri. i actually own the floral tray in the top picture, on the left, but i found the exact same one in missouri and it is so handy for holding random things so i had to buy it. and i love the white doily candy dish right above it, only $2!

i love collecting these patterned plates. i think i once saw an article in domino or martha stewart living with different ideas on how you could use vintage plates. one idea from domino was using them to hold jewelry. anyway, think about picking up some vintage plates on your next trip to the thrift store or flea market. so many good finds.

so nothing much to report about my weekend here. today i am going to disneyland with my roommate, nick, and his cousin! it is nick's cousin's birthday - and what better to do than go to disneyland for free on your birthday. ;)

then, some very exciting news which is not certain yet: but i may very well be meeting someone i would consider an 'online bff' - a very dear friend who is making a long roadtrip down to eventually meet her husband in texas! she was going to pass by through my little city and it would be so amazing to finally meet her. plus i've never met anyone from the blog world yet, it's going to be awesome!

congrats: to katie!

a while ago i posted a 'must share' when i received my order from made by hank. the packaging, my favorite, and the product was so lovely! it was one of those things that you just had to grab your camera and take a picture of it.

banner..

i later received an amazing custom made banner from katie. (shown above in picture) and i was so excited this morning when i saw that she is etsy's featured seller this week! i feel like i know someone famous ;) when you look at her packaging and all her attention to detail, it is no wonder why she is so fabulous.

congrats: to katie!

be sure to check out her shop as it's stocked with lots of her lovely signature bags, and they probably won't last long since she sells out super quick! everyone wants to own a made by hank bag!

anyway, i just wanted to say congrats to katie and if you haven't heard of her yet, be sure to stop by for some fabulous inspiration.

these hair pins are being added to the shop. i really love all the vintage findings. i wore the red one the other day, it was my favorite. nick was like, "what are you canadian?" it's interesting how people perceive things. that was my favorite charm and it reminded him of a canadian flag leaf ;)

weekend:

January 19, 2009

happy monday lovelies.

good morning.

it's a lovely day today, some clouds, a little overcast: my favorite. i am excited for the possible rain in the forecast, but i won't get my hopes up. i do enjoy sitting with a cup of tea, looking out the window. my roommate brought home some blueberry crumb cake, yum. so that's what you see in the image above. today i will be spending all day packaging orders and mailing things.

so my weekend was nice, how was yours? i got some new packaging for the jewelry, so i'll post some pictures tomorrow. over the weekend, i watched my little brother's puppy while him and his gf went to a show in la. i never really thought of myself as a dog person, but this little puppy is the cutest. her name is bella! i'm not really one to take pictures of dogs, but i took lots when i was watching her:

bella!

i took a few other ones too! note: those are all links. anyway, nick and i caught up in our episodes of 24. this show is legit. i mean, jack bauer is my hero. nick commented that he should just run the country. ;) all would be well with jack in charge. on satuday, i went to visit my grandparents. my brother and i took them to in-n-out. these are old school asian people, who only eat asian food but love their in-n-out hamburgers. it's pretty great. and i guess along the way, i caught some random cold, i feel super meh. nicholas was so thoughtful he bought me some tissues (with lotion - since i commented my nose hurt from blowing my nose so much, and these are so soft!) some flowers, and some bread to make sandwiches.

date stamp.

i also got some office supplies, like tags + ink pads. i think they are just lovely. i will be listing these date stamps in the supply shop. well, that's about it for my weekend. hope yours was splendid.

mail day:

6

January 9, 2009

i love receiving mail! i mean, who doesn't? all the excitement of what a package contains, it's fabulous. my roommate commented to me the other day that i seem to receive a lot of mail, which is probably not necessarily a good thing because it means i'm spending money. even the ups guy who has delivered packages to me the past couple evenings commented, "making a habit of this huh?" ha.

i received some pretty great things yesterday: so i thought i'd share. a green clutch which i think might be my new favorite item. sometimes i don't like carrying my purse around, so this is a great solution. it has a wallet attached with card holders and everything, and then a part where i could probably fit my phone, chapstick, and keys. i received the 'tower of treats' including six harry & david pears, which i am very excited about. when i opened it, it was like Christmas was continuing. and i received a package from a lovely and kind friend, which was much too pretty to open and i had a hard time opening it. ;)

mail day l.

mail day lll.

mail day V.

mail day ll.

mail day lV.

mail day Vl.

so that's my mail for the day. i hope nicholas doesn't see this, he has been saying i need a job. he'd probably say it's nonsense, taking pictures of pears and things of the sort. ;) well, have a lovely weekend dear friends.
