Hello 2013!

2013 is here! WOW!! I didn't want to miss posting a new calendar for the start of this year.. received a few emails about where December's calendar was last month and I didn't realize some looked forward to them so thank you!

I designed this month's message a couple weeks ago and made a stamp and tote bag with it. Well, I changed it around a little for today but I thought it was appropriate for starting off a brand new year! Yesterday I mentioned a few things I want to work on this year. I think these little messages are great reminders of things to keep in mind daily, for me at least. Maybe for you too?

Also, this month I decided to just post the motivational message instead of the actual calendar, and I wanted to get your thoughts. Do you like just the message better? Or would you prefer having the calendar as well? For those of you who would like the calendar included, I did make one size and it can be downloaded here. But let me know your thoughts and I'll make it work for next month!

New Month:

HURRAY! November is here! I love this month because it means family time, reflecting on things we're thankful for (although we should really do that all the time), official holiday season, and December is next. This month also means hopefully Nick & I get to move into our new house! Isn't this time of year the best? This month's quote is "find some place to stop and be still" - I thought it was appropriate because things are going to get pretty crazy and busy from here on out, hopefully you get a moment to just stop and take in these moments of life, so precious but fleeting. Hope you enjoy today's desktop :) It's not super fall-themed, but hopefully a little more festive to get you ready for the season!

New Month:

October is here! I think the month's go by extra fast when I measure them by the desktop calendars that are posted. It seems like a new one is getting posted everyday! What are you looking forward to this month? Anyone have a birthday? Celebrating their anniversary? My cousin is getting married in a couple weeks, I'm so excited to celebrate with them and see family!

I really like this quote. At times, my mind and heart feel so discontent with what I'm doing with my life - sounds so silly, I know. I think some of it has to do with all the blogs we read.. seeing some big bloggers living these fabulous gorgeous lives and I find myself comparing.. My friend Ruby actually wrote a great post about reading blogs with discernment. I know I am exactly where I need to be. I don't need to be taking over the world. I need to just be content. Hm, maybe that should be next month's quote? ;)

Hello September! I cannot believe we are in September. WOW. This month means Nick & I will be having our 2 year anniversary, which is just crazy to think we've been married for 2 years! Except I said to Linda the other day, "oh yea, we'll be married for 3 years" haha, so I guess I'm just loosing track now. It seems not that long ago. Yet it does. If that makes any sense ;) Anyway!

Hope you enjoy this month's calendar. I see this quote, "let it go" around quite often but I don't seem to ever remember it in times when I need to, it's hard for me to do sometimes. Well we are at a new month once again! I for one think it is so crazy how this year is passing by so quickly, anyone else? I know I say this all the time but I wish I could figure out a way to slow time down.. it just seems to be going even faster! Maybe if I don't think about it so much ;) Anyway. This month is super busy and super fun - I'll be in Hong Kong & Vietnam, we'll be selling at trade show & we have a vintage sale with friends happening - and I know it's just going to all go by so fast so I really am going to try to appreciate each day.

This month's quote really stood out to me. In our society where it is so easy to get caught up in success and it being all about "me" - I sometimes have to step back and remember humility in whatever success I've been fortunate enough to have. Never let success get to your head. Never let failure get to your heart. Well said. Hope you enjoy this month's background friends! Hello July! Sorry this is a couple days late friends. Don't know where the time is going! Do you have any big plans for this month? Talking with my cousin the other day, we reminisced about childhood summer days - didn't they feel like those days were longest ever? Hello April .. Anyone else think it's kind of crazy that we've gone through a quarter of the year already? I wish we could just have a slow-motion life button to slow down. But it seems to be passing by so quickly. I guess I just need to be more aware and intentional to slow down, take it all in, and enjoy each day.

Happy 2012 friends! I hope your holiday was relaxing and wonderful.. Here is a fresh new desktop calendar for you - can't start the new year off without one. I put a little quote in this month's calendar - "not all who wander are lost" .. Last year I feel like I wandered a lot. I have a hard time staying focused and my interests are all over the place so one day I want to do one thing and the next week I'll have interest in something else, anyone else have that problem?

November is here! As usual, October just flew by. Although I am very excited that Christmas is coming soon... I personally think it's the best time of the whole year ;)

For this month's desktop background, I've included a quote from Steve Jobs: "there is no reason not to follow your heart." I met someone the other day who expressed to me how they are just so tired of their day job and would love to quit and pursue something they are really passionate about. I think this is all too familiar for some of us.

What do you think? Is this easier said than done?

Sure, the attitude these days is "at least I have a job" - I know it's tough out there right now for so many of us. At the same time, I think the technology and resources we have available to us today (versus what was around 20, maybe even 10 years ago) do allow this notion of 'following our heart and goals' to be possible - so be encouraged! Pursue your dreams and follow your heart. Well said Mr Jobs.

Happy-Friday-new-month! Is it just me or is 2011 flying by like crazy for anyone else too? I hope you like this month's desktop background :)

Any special holiday weekend plans for anyone? I am just really looking forward to a 3 day weekend with my husband! Well, I want to wish you all a safe 4th of July. I don't mean to be a downer but my cousin was killed by drunk driver on the 4th. It was careless and tragic and people don't think before they drink & drive! This holiday is forever changed for us. So my prayer is for all of you dear friends to be safe!
