This sweet little brass tray is from a dear friend, she picked it up on her honeymoon. I thought it was so thoughtful, I love the elephant and she said it was a true vintage item from Sri Lanka, so cool! It's sitting on my desk and will always be a treasured item in my collection.

This treasured item comes with a lot of memories! When we were in Portland a couple years ago, we came across this auction listing online. It was a couple hours away from Portland but there were some video game & star war stuff (which Nick was obviously interested in) and we thought it could be fun so we made the drive. We had never been to an auction and it was so random that we ended up there ;) It ended up being a lot of fun, exciting to bid on things. When this item came up I thought it was pretty funny and random so we bid on it. I came away with a couple other things but Nick didn't end up winning the stuff he was interested in - some little old lady ended up outbidding him! Have you ever been to an auction? They're really fun and definitely make for memorable moments :)

I love constellation and galaxy stuff, I have a small collection going on. I've always wanted a constellation globe but have never really come across any. One day at the antique market, Nick went a little ahead of me and comes back and says, "I saw a globe, not sure if you'll like it" and so he takes me to the spot. Turns out it wasn't just a globe but a lamp too! I think we paid only $25-$30. It is one of my favorite items and Nick's best find by far ;)

I came across these little holders at an antique market up north.  They actually had these pharmacy labels which I was totally drawn to.




Gosh old labels and graphics from back then are so amazing. Sadly all the labels were stuck together probably from being so old.. anyone know how to separate them? :) I loved the labels but also thought these would be great for displaying things (I have a slight addiction to displays!) These are definitely in my treasured pile :)

When we were sending out wedding invites 3 years ago, I remember buying some unused postage on ebay. I paid over the value of the stamp because the designs were old. I've been going to garage sales and antique markets for a while now but have never really come across old stamps. Maybe I just didn't know to look for them!
I went to a sale recently and this guy had a HUGE collection of unused postage stamps! They were selling it all at half off the value of whatever the stamp was. I picked a few (well, more than a few) sheets and was pretty excited to get some cool 'vintage' postage. It's still useable so getting postage stamps at half price is a pretty good deal. The only thing is that it's hard to actually use these, I want to save them! But I may end up like that guy who never did anything with them either ;)
Anyway, I thought I'd share this today because to me, these unused postage stamps are totally a treasure. Are there any other old stamp collectors out there? What do you think? Would you save these stamps or use them?

  From time to time I come across really neat vintage treasures and thought I'd take some photos and start a weekly post to share them with you! Today's treasured item is a quiz stick. I found this at a garage sale... it may be just me but I think this is the coolest! It has all these little papers with questions on it and you just tear one off the stick.
  Then you remove the thread and unfold the paper and it reveals the answer:


Amazing! haha. maybe I am easily impressed. but I just think things like this are so fun. and quality! I mean, someone must have hand folded and sewn these little pieces of paper. unless a machine did it.. not sure. Wasn't able to find much out about the company. Does anyone have one of these? Well, hope you find this as fun as I do ;) Will be back soon with another treasured post!
