What can I say? I am a sucker for romance, particularly Jane Austen. I could sit and read Austen novels all day long. I wanted Nick to wear a Mr. Darcy outfit for our wedding, he decided no on that one ;) Something about that time period and the culture back then. So civilized, polite, & proper. Is anyone else out there a fan?

I like to think Nick & I have our own pride & prejudice story, we met at poker night and I instantly was not a fan of his, he seemed to be arrogant and so annoying! But he eventually won my heart. Oh, here are my favorite movie adaptations if you haven't seen these: persuasion <-- my favorite! emma, pride & prejudice, mansfield park - they are definitely worth watching!

Anyway, here is a random collection of jane austen-related images! Enjoy!

weekend:

January 12, 2009

the weekend was good.. i watched sense and sensibility with my roommate. what can i say? i'm a big jane austen fan. reached 500 etsy sales, hurray! took some pics with photo booth on my comp, it's a little bit addicting, there are so many fun filters! said goodbye to a dear apple friend, jamielowry since he's leaving us for san francisco. went to disneyland, again...with my little 11-year old friend naseem, though i suppose she is not so little since she's as tall as me. ;) waited in line for 30 minutes to a pineapple whip float, yum! it was well worth it. had a meeting for a magazine that my friend is starting up. (this is the group below. i love animated gifs! mye is supposed to teach me how to make them.) talked with nicholas about possibly going to this school in germany for a few months..which would be amazing.

and that's all. sorry for the lack of posts today. lots of things to do. see you tomorrow friends!

wow, it's friday. the week totally flew by! i wish i had a time machine... if i did, i'd pause time and do all the things i want to do now but don't have enough time to do. i'd plan our entire wedding, then since everything would be ready, i'd just have the wedding tomorrow. ;) i'd go back in time and meet jesus. i'd want to see what it was like when jane austen lived too. hehe. i'd go back and spend time with my dear friend who passed away from cancer (next weekend would have been her 25th birthday) i'd go back and remember the first time nicholas and i met. and i'd go forward just to see what the future is like. what would you do if you had a time machine? ;)

well we are in milwaukee, wisconsin this weekend for a wedding, and in missouri visiting nick's family! i love the midwest: good bbq, good thrift stores, and good company. what more can a girl ask for? see you all next week! oh, and don't forget to enter the silhouette giveaway!

xo.

"i love you, most ardently."
my roommate and i have been on a jane austen kick this past weekend.  first, we decided to watch mansfield park, which was pretty good. then we started  the 5 hour long bbc pride and prejudice. collin firth, though he is old enough to be my dad, is just so dreamy. ha, is that weird? he's just always been so irresistible, in all his movies.  we thought about how cool it was how they talked back then, so proper. and we are going to start using the phrase, "make haste." so great. then last night i stayed up and watched the newest version with keira knightly and matthew macfadyen as mr. darcy.  i mean, seriously who loves pride and prejudice? how can you not. it's so romantic.

anyway, next weekend hopefully will be a little  more exciting because we're going to be printing our letterpress projects! this last saturday we just set the text, which is seriously a lot of work and took the whole class time, nearly 2.5 hours. i will take pictures to document for next week. my first project is going to be cards that say "hello friend" and i'm not sure what my second project will be. any ideas?

sunny day:sunny day:

just wanted to stop in and say hello to you today! it is a beautiful sunny day in orange county... i got really terrible food poison last night and i've been in bed all afternoon. thankfully i have a very caring fiancee. when i walked into my craft room today the sun was shining brightly into the room and it was such a warm and lovely sight. so i grabbed my camera and took a few shots to share with you. i'll probably do a full tour very soon, the room is quite different since posting a glimpse at decor8.

i'm going back to bed and enjoy watching masterpiece theater's remake of emma. if you are a jane austen fan, you'll simply love this! you can watch it online at pbs till march 9th! maybe this weekend you can light a candle and have a lovely evening with emma and the handsome mr. knightley ;)

anyway, i'll probably take tomorrow to rest so i will see you all on monday. and a certain package post will be coming so don't miss it! wishing you a delightful weekend dear friends. xo.

10 things, wednesday:

10 new things I am thankful for today.

1) simple things I take for granted like food, clothes, and a home.
2) food + the ability to taste.
3) that I get to go to sleep + wake up next to my husband each day!
4) the bible and truth that i hold so close to my heart.
5) my identity in Christ, and the hope found in Him.
6) forgiveness. It's a beautiful thing. without it, Nicholas and i would never make it through!
7) patience. Another thing that gets us through the day.
8) technology: internet, computer, camera, etc.
9) Jane Austen ;)
10) Car. So often taken for granted but I saw about 10 people the other day waiting at the bus stop.. and thought, "people really use the bus??" heh. our bus system is not efficient here from what I've heard. I've never used it but my roommates in college used it once to go about 3 miles down the street and it took 2 hours! I wondered the circumstances those people were in that they had to use the bus... So grateful I have the means to have a car that takes me to the places I want/need to go.

For the technology thing, I do sometimes think what our lives would be like without it. Perhaps more simple. We could take time to enjoy life instead of being consumed by the computer 5 or 6 or 7 hours a day. But I guess I am thankful for it, because it's pretty cool ;)
