Craft show / Unique LA:

61

May 17, 2011

Finally, I was able to edit my pictures from Unique LA and now I can share my space with you! :) Like I said, we rented furniture from Found Rentals - it was the best. I felt really unsure of how it would turn out because Jeni & I just picked some random pieces and I wasn't even sure if it would fit in together. But I think it worked out and I felt really proud of the space Nick & I created in a 10x10 booth. Okay, on with the pictures!

My husband is a cutie-pie.

Jeni had done a wedding shoot & made the gorgeous
lampshade & ruffle flowers. She's an amazing diy-er ;)

Got some awesome custom shape wood signs made by the nicest guy around Roberto Sand - I highly recommend his shop! His work is so so so quality and did I mention he's such a nice guy? Check out his shop and tell him oh, hello friend sent you ;)

Elisha, A sweet friend I met down in San Diego stopped by with her lovely mom and they snapped some photos of customers. I've never really been able to get out and take pictures while there are people shopping, and it was a fun new perspective to see. Thanks Elisha! Be sure to stop by her blog!

My mom stopped by on Saturday and I am loving her hair! It has been growing back since her chemo over 6 months ago. I want to cut mine like that now! One of my dear friend's Jessica drove all the way up from San Diego with her friend, Victoria. AND Nick spotted a celeb! One of the twins from Desperate Housewives. I'm not sure which twin it was. (On their IMDB, one was born on July 31st & the other on August 1st, crazy!) But he was sooo nice!

Jess is so cute, she gave Nicholas a 'tip' for being such a
good husband and helping at my show.

Love keys!

Rubber stamp packs, key necklaces, vintage photo holders, magnets - I think my line is expanding away from jewelry. I really enjoy doing all sorts of things, I can't focus on just one thing.

So that's it! It was about 4 hours to set up & 3+ hours to tear down. But it was all worth it! My booth actually won the BEST BOOTH DESIGN contest that Unique LA has for all vendors. I couldn't believe it, I had some tough competition.

Well, only 6 more shows to go! Then we're free in June! I love shows and meeting people & getting my brand out there, but I can't wait for the day I can set up a space & not have to take it down (I mean opening my own store, hopefully soon!) Have a lovely day friends!

Ahh, I've been crafting forever trying to make enough products and prepare for 2 craft shows which are tomorrow & Sunday: Unique LA & Renegade! If you are in the area, please stop by! I'll be at Unique over the weekend with Nicholas and my brother's are helping me out at Renegade so whichever show you're going to, stop by and say hello! :) Both shows will be awesome!

I have never done 2 craft shows in the same weekend so I'm a little worried I won't have enough to sell. Usually I feel prepared but right now I'm anxious about it. Oh well, it will be a learning experience! I'm really excited to put together a "craft show 101" guide next year for any of you who are thinking of possibly getting into craft shows!

Anyway, if you're coming to Unique LA, don't forget to print out a coupon!
*note: coupons probably won't work at Renegade,
I think it may confuse my brothers, sorry about that! ;)

Happy weekend sweet friends. Wow, only 15 days away from Christmas - can you believe it? I better get going on my shopping! Hope you've enjoyed the 12 days of cheer, last 2 will be posted this weekend so be sure to check back :)

unique los angeles friends:

19

December 9, 2009

this post had to go into another because there were just so many lovely friends who stopped by that i have to blog about! firstly, i guess i will talk about the celebs. it was so cool :)

jackie tohn. so cool. so here's my story about the ama thing. this super sweet person comes into my booth and she's like "hello friend...hey, did you have your stuff in the bags at the ama gift lounge?" and i was like..so random.. but yes! she was like, "oh yea, i remember your company!" or something like that and i asked if she got a bag and she was like, "yep, i was on american idol last season, top 24" i felt super lame cause i don't watch american idol but that's seriously legit if you're in top 24.

anyway, she told me these crazy stories about how the companies in the gift lounge just give out tons of free stuff to all the celebrities... and i told her about how my necklace got stolen and she suggested maybe a celebrity took it cause they thought it was free. so that made me feel better...

as she left, nick was like, "you should take a picture with her!" so i ran after her to ask if i could take a pic. she was SO sweet. she came back to my booth and was like "yea, i'll put on a necklace or something" so there she is - wearing a oh, hello friend necklace! so in a strange way, the ama gift lounge did work out cause i ended up getting a pic of my item on a celeb anyway! heh. and the fact that she remembered my company brand and mentioned it totally made my day. branding works! lol. so i called my bro cause he's a big idol fan and he totally remembered her!

Marguerite Moreau. you may remember her from the mighty ducks, i totally grew up on that movie! then i saw her in another show recently and so it was so random when i saw her at unique la in april - she was at the info table, lol. i think i was probably staring at her really awkwardly. i wanted to take a picture with her then but i was like, meh. so anyway, she was back here last weekend, this time passing out drinks. then she came into my booth and i turned to nick and whispered "dude nick, that actress is in my booth!" hahaaaa. she bought a magnet set from me! i asked to take a picture with her, she was so sweet. fun times.

anyway, lots more friend pics: click below to see more!

tina from hi tree! she is really cool, and i love everything from her shop. we were next to each other at a craft show in la that was the worst so i got to meet her back then.

mai from ruche. yep, that's right! i totally met the owner of the most lovely shop ruche! her and her husband were so lovely and sweet.

i was next to kait emerson designs at patchwork and was so glad to meet her. you don't always get next to super friendly people at some of these shows so it was lovely to be next to her. i know i say this a lot but she was so sweet. everyone is so sweet, lol. her daughter was soooo adorable too.

my dear friends beatrice her sister cynthia. they were such a big help at patchwork show and stopped by to support at unique. beatrice studied fashion and makes the most lovely things that she sells in her etsy shop here.

and last but not least, all the other lovely friends.

laura - a sweet friend who i just met through blogging.

elim - a sweet friend who i actually met just selling at uc irvine.

carissa - a shop supporter who has purchased from my shop a few times.. she wrote a really sweet thing about meeting each other on her blog.

michelle + carissa woo - super random story about michelle and her sister. i know michelle through blogging, and her sister carissa was roommates with one of my friends from elementary school. such a small world.

dear friends helen + frances + her adorable kids!

my aunt linda stopped by and always supports!

how cute is nicholas in his bike shirt.. which he got many compliments on. i got him this shirt ;)

Hi Friends. Sorry I was MIA this week! Things have been pretty crazy getting ready for double shows this weekend. Nick left for Chicago today to do Renegade Chicago! He's an craft show pro now ;) He is amazing and always so supportive.

So I stayed here to do Unique LA tomorrow. If you're in the Chicago or LA area, be sure to stop by! These shows are both amazing with so many talented artists, you won't want to miss it! There will be tons of new oh, hello friend goods too. The shows are both Saturday & Sunday from 11:00 - 6:00. Happy weekend, will try to get back to regular blogging week! :)

Craft Shows:

July 3, 2013

We got asked quite often if we were still going to do craft shows even after we opened our store. I think we definitely still intended to do craft shows, it's where we started! I always tell people who are interested in doing a craft show for their business - they're great exposure for the business and a great way to get your name out there. We love doing them now so we can direct people to our retail shop!

Beautiful paper flower from Blooms in the Air.

These photos were taken from the craft show we did in May - Unique LA. It's a fun show! There are a couple fun shows coming up this summer like Unique Summer in Santa Monica and Renegade Craft, so don't forget to mark it on your calendars!
