The Handsome - Bob from Oh Joy:

Really excited to have Bob on The Handsome today, he's married to the wonderfully talented Joy from oh joy! I had heard somewhere before that he was a surgeon, which is just so legit! A surgeon + amazing designer = 100% awesome couple! Thanks Bob & Joy!

Please tell us a little about you and what you do: I am a pediatric orthopedic surgeon, specializing in spinal deformity in children. I also love bad action movies.

What are your thoughts about blogs + blogging? I think it's awesome! Blogs are the magazines for the digital age--and they are much more current, focused, and regularly updated than the former. They have transformed what people actually do on a computer--from watching cat tricks on YouTube to reading genuinely inspired content from genuinely inspired people.

How many hours a day does your wife spend blogging? It seems like all the time, but I'm not home when she usually is doing it so I am not sure.

What do you do during this time? I am making the world straighter, one child at a time.

Any silly/crazy/funny stories or experiences related to blogging you'd like to share with the readers: Not too many crazy stories, but I know never to eat any food until a photo is taken of it first. Sometimes I try to get a fork in there before my wife can take a picture, which usually makes her go a bit crazy. I know, simple pleasures...

Is there any one thing that annoys you most about having a blogger wife? Above, as sometimes I just want to eat my hamburger without it being photographed first.

shop packaging:

I thought it was about time to share some images of my latest shop packaging. The items I use are really just some basic supplies: stamps, kraft bags, shipping tags, vellum bags, and twine.

I have a couple different items I use to package items like kraft bags, cotton bags, and pocket envelopes. They're all just so fun, I keep them all near.

The actual item itself usually goes into a stamped pocket envelope, a vellum bag with a label, or a small jewelry box, which is not shown here but I've blogged about the boxes before here.

Once all the items are carefully packaged up, they get tied with lace or twine & a special wood tag, just like the ones I used for our wedding invites. They're so fun!

I truly enjoy packaging, what about you?

So all this talk about collections, I thought show you a picture of one of the collections I have - perpetual calendars! They're all vintage, they really don't make them like they used to. I don't know when I first started collecting them, I just think they're really fun. Of course, I don't have the right date set of any of them, haha.

Hi everyone! It's Brittni from papernstitch with another craft project roundup for you. When thinking about what to feature for this week, I started to feel like last week's small things post needed a follow-up. So, I have another small things diy roundup for you on this beautiful Friday morning. Let's get started...

(above) Freshen up those tired bowls, vases, and other household items with a fresh coat of paint (idea from stylist Rebecca Newport via Decor8). It sounds a little strange, but the results are hard to argue with. The secret? Make sure its a chalky matte finish and remember color is important.

Make a no sew fabric coin purse like this one from Between the Lines with just a few scraps. This little diy would be the perfect gift for party favors, bridesmaids, and birthdays. And its so easy, you can even get the kids involved.

And finally, here are a couple of projects from Martha, who is at it again with her clever tutorials. Learn how to cross-stitch pretty much anything (from fabric scraps to pencil bags) with a few fun projects. Or create a batch of quick and quirky button magnets for the fridge.

So I shared some instant collections yesterday and asked you what sort of things you collect. After seeing Lisa Congdon's Collection A Day book, I got even more inspired about collections and thought it'd be fun to have a little collection swap! What do you think? Read on for details!

Details: You will be paired with 1 swap partner and each of you will share what sort of things you collect. Then you'll buy an item from your partner's list and send it to them! So everyone will have added a new item to their collection by the end of this trade!

Swap Dollar Amount: $15-$20

Dates: Sign ups will close on Saturday, March 5th or if we reach 100 people, whichever comes first. Partners will be issued by March 8th and please have your package sent by March 31st.

Overseas: We will allow friends in international countries to participate, but please note if you are interested in sending overseas or not.

Honey & Wheat Housewarming:

I got an email from Kori, from paper and pigtails, with pictures from a housewarming party that she had and thought I'd share it with you. Her theme was honey, and they went all out! Honey cake, cookies, sticks, and even honey lager! I really love there's real honey comb for their guests to try, and the take home gifts are so cute! Makes me want to throw a party now .. Details from Kori: "We held the party after moving into a new honey yellow colored home, and used the color (which is my favorite) and our favorite foods as inspiration for the party theme. We bought different variations of local honey and honeycombs for people to taste, and served them in individual glasses with wheat pretzels and breadsticks. We also had cheeses and sweets, honey stick favors, and little wooden honey pots full of spun wool for the little ones to take home."

Today's keyword is instant collection .. which perhaps is also can be called hoarder's delight. For the slightly vintage obsessed collector, an instant collection is amazing goodness where one can simply add to their collection x 10, or start an instant collection, hence the name.
